Not to be Forgotten

Not to Be Forgotten

“Not to Be Forgotten” is a striking reminder of history’s quiet persistence in the face of time. This photograph captures a weathered log structure, its timbers darkened and textured by years of exposure, standing amid an open field edged with autumn trees. The roof, partially caved and moss-streaked, hints at a life once lived here a place of shelter, work, and stories now surrendered to memory. The open doorway and windows frame emptiness, yet they invite the viewer to imagine the warmth and activity that once filled the space.

Behind the structure, slender birch and sturdy evergreens rise toward a perfectly clear blue sky. The contrast between the lively golds of fall foliage and the stoic grey of the cabin creates a sense of continuity: life moves forward even as traces of the past endure. The scene is quiet, yet charged with meaning; each weathered plank and nail carries a sense of resilience.

This image honours those who came before us builders, pioneers, families whose efforts shaped the land and whose echoes still whisper through forgotten homesteads. This image is not simply about decay; it’s about remembrance and respect for the impermanence that makes each chapter of life precious.

Rainbow Crossing

Rainbow Crossing

Rainbow Crossing is a vibrant celebration of contrast industry and nature meeting under a fleeting prism of light. The photograph captures a steel railway bridge stretching across the frame, its weathered girders and riveted beams standing in quiet defiance against time. Above the treeline, an arc of colour bursts through a clearing storm: a spectrum of colour casting its soft glow over the forested hills.

The juxtaposition is striking. The bridge, with its hard edges and engineered symmetry, represents progress and movement, while the rainbow speaks of wonder and impermanence. The autumn foliage along the banks adds depth and warmth, with greens, golds, and rust tones echoing the season’s quiet shift. Each element works in harmony steel and spectrum, wood and water to remind us that beauty often lives where opposites meet.

This fine art print is more than a landscape. It’s a narrative of coexistence, a moment when the man-made and the ephemeral share the same stage. For collectors, it’s a piece that celebrates hope and resilience a reminder that even the most utilitarian structures can be softened by light, and that nature always finds a way to surprise us.

To Question

To Question

“To Question” offers a quiet but commanding glimpse of the raw and untamed beauty found along British Columbia’s west coast near Bamfield. In this photograph, two rugged sea stacks rise defiantly from the rocky shoreline, their angular forms softened by the crowns of wind-shaped evergreens clinging to their tops. These pillars of stone, worn and weathered by countless tides, stand as silent sentinels facing the Pacific, bearing witness to the restless dance of water, wind, and time.

The scene is framed by a scatter of boulders and tide-washed stones, their muted greys and browns contrasting with the deep blues of the ocean and the soft, moody sky above. Seaweed and coastal vegetation add a touch of gold and green, hinting at the delicate ecosystems thriving in this seemingly harsh environment. The composition draws the eye outward, from the intimate details of the shoreline to the distant silhouette of forested headlands and islands on the horizon.

This photograph is a study in strength and persistence. It reminds us that even the hardest rock is shaped by nature’s hand and that beauty often resides in resilience. This coastal portrait is as much about what is seen as what is felt a moment of stillness inviting reflection on permanence and change.
